Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has awarded the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification to eight state-run health centers for their excellent healthcare services and improved patient treatment. A Union Health Ministry team conducted inspections of these eight hospitals between April and May, evaluating the quality of services available to patients. The team also collected feedback from patients regarding their experiences.

Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has conferred the NQAS certification upon the following health centers: Majhgawan Sub Health Center in Bilaspur district, Dulla Health and Wellness Center in Gariyaband, Kalcha Health and Wellness Center in Bastar, Pipraol Health and Wellness Center in Balrampur district, Pithampur Health and Wellness Center in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Shivprasadnagar Health and Wellness Center in Surguja, Sasha Health and Wellness Center in Balodabazar, and Dakai Health and Wellness Center in Surguja.
In the assessment conducted by the Ministry’s team, Majhgawan Sub Health Center received a score of 81 per cent, Dulla Health and Wellness Center 82 per cent, Kalcha Health and Wellness Center 89 per cent, Pipraol Health and Wellness Center 73 per cent, Pithampur Health and Wellness Center 89 per cent, Shivprasadnagar Health and Wellness Center 93 per cent, Sasha Health and Wellness Center 96 per cent, and Dakai Health and Wellness Center 88 per cent.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel and Health Minister Shri T.S. Singh Deo congratulated the staff of all the health centers that have been awarded the certification for their dedicated healthcare services. They have expressed their confidence in the continued maintenance of excellence in patient care within these health centers and the setting of new benchmarks for other health centers in the state. The fact that government hospitals in remote areas have received the NAQS certification signifies that quality healthcare facilities are now accessible in even remote regions of the state.
It is worth mentioning that prior to the issuance of the NAQS certification, the health centre’s services and levels of patient satisfaction undergo assessment in various standards by a team of experts. It includes parameters like available services, patient rights, inputs, support services, clinical services, infection control, quality management, and outcomes. Only hospitals that meet these rigorous standards are granted quality certification by the Union Health Ministry.
