
970 Children of Special Backward Tribe Pahadi Korwa are studying in ashrams and hostels
Many have been provided admission to Swami Atmanand Excellent English and Hindi Medium School
Sports Training Facility has also been made available

Jashpurnagar, 07 May 2023 / District Administration is making dedicated efforts to connect the children of special backward tribes including Pahari and Birhor communities of remote areas with the mainstream of education. Residential accommodation facilities such as ashrams and hostels is being provided for the children of Bagich, Sanna, and Path area.
According to the information received from the Tribal Department, 970 children of special backward tribes of the district, including those of Pahadi Korwa and Birhor families, are studying in the ashrams. Children of these communities are also studying in Swami Atmanand Excellent English and Hindi Medium School of Chhattisgarh Government. Today, Pahadi Korwa children are availing the quality education and government job opportunities, heading towards a brighter future.
The district administration also provides free-of-cost food, textbooks, notebooks, scholarship, uniforms s, and sports facilities to Korwa children. Eklavya Archery Academy has been established in the district to advance in sports. Facilities like these encourage children to polish their sports talent by availing world-class training from expert coaches.
Children of special backward tribes such as Pahadi Korwa have been given admission in Sankalp Shikshan Sansthan as well. This institution is run by the district administration. In these education facilities, children are also preparing for medical and engineering.
