
Raipur. World Bicycle Day 2022: According to the National NCD Monitoring Survey (NNMS), 41.3% of Indians remain physically active. Lack of physical activity increases the risk of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer.
Along with this, physical activity also has a positive effect on our mental health. Therefore, it is very important to do physical activities to keep the body healthy. In view of this, a “Cycling Program” will be organized by the Ministry of Health, Government of India on Sunday, June 5, to commemorate the World Cycle Day to be held on June 3. In this regard, Additional Secretary and Mission Director of National Health Mission, Government of India, Roli Singh has issued a letter to all the states.

The preparations for this event are also being done by the state government. In the letter issued by the Additional Secretary, it has been said that there are many benefits of physical activities. Regular physical activity, exercise reduces the risk of non-communicable diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer diseases. Along with this, there is also a lot of relief from mental health, stress and depression. However, activities like yoga and zumba are being done at health and wellness centers. This can also reduce the risk of exposure to non-communicable diseases. Therefore, along with Yoga and Zumba, there is a need to promote regular cycling. For the same purpose, all the states have been asked by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to organize a “cycling program” on 5th June.
