New Delhi. COVID- 19 Vaccination for Children: The anti-Covid-19 vaccination program for adults is going on in full swing in the country, with this the disease of vaccination of children has arrived. The Subject Expert Committee of the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has recommended Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin to be used for immunization of children in the age group of 2 to 18 years in the country.
Now the final decision has to be taken by the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) on the recommendation made by the DCGI Expert Committee. With this, the anti-COVID-19 vaccination program for children will be started. However, what will be the standard procedure for administering this vaccine to children, it is yet to be decided. A committee of the Government of India is working on this.
While making this recommendation, DCGI has imposed four conditions for the vaccine manufacturer. According to these conditions, the process of trial of the vaccine will be continued continuously. It will also have to be added to the information about the vaccine that what effect it will have on children. Collect data on the safety and side effects of Covaccine every 15 days after vaccination for children.
Apart from this, the vaccine manufacturer should tell about the risk management plan, that is, if there are side effects, then what should be done in such a situation, the company will have to be informed.
Let us inform that apart from Covaxin, Zydus Cadila’s Vaccine Zaycov-D has also been approved for children between 12 to 18 years. This vaccine will be administered in three doses, which will be injected with a jet injector instead of a syringe. It causes negligible pain after injection.
