Ambikapur. Chhattisgarh: Nand Kumar Baghel, father of Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, said that Health Minister TS Singh Deo can never become the Chief Minister. He advised him to give up the idea about this and become an MP in the next election and sit comfortably in the chair.
Talking to reporters after an event in Surguja on Sunday, Nand Kumar Baghel said, “If Baba (Singh Deo) becomes the chief minister, he will be completely defeated in politics because SC, ST and OBC will not vote for him. ” In this way the Congress party may also suffer in the state. So it is not right for him to be the Chief Minister.
Nand Kumar Baghel, 86, was recently in trouble for his anti-Brahmin remarks. An FIR was registered against him in this case. Nand Kumar Baghel claimed that he had asked Singh Deo to become an MP and sit comfortably. Even before this, Nand Kumar Baghel has been opposing Health Minister TS Singh Deo.
Sometime back during a program in Surguja itself, he had said that TS Singh Deo will not get ticket from Congress in the next election. In his place, other leaders from Surguja region will get an opportunity to contest elections.
The remarks came after TS Singh Deo said that the 2.5-year formula is no longer debatable as the Baghel government has already completed half its term. During a recent visit to Bhopal, Dev said that the party high command has reserved the decision on the matter.
