
Raipur, Chhattisgarh: COVID positivity rate in Chhattisgarh has further declined to 0.14%. On August 17, nearly 39 thousand samples were tested across the state, out of which only 56 people were found COVID positive. Also, no new case of COVID infection has been reported in nine districts of the state i.e. Balod, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Dhamtari, Gariaband, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Surguja, Korea and Dantewada. Only one case has been reported in each of these nine districts- Rajnandgaon, Raipur, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Raigarh, Mungeli, Surajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Narayanpur and Bijapur. Likewise, two cases each have been found in the three districts namely Mahasamund, Bilaspur and Kondagaon. At present, the rate of infection in various districts of the state ranges from zero to a maximum of 0.52 percent. On August 17, only one death due to COVID infection was reported in the state. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is actively declining, as the patients are recovering and less number of new cases are being found daily. The number of active patients in the state at present is 1037.
