Poonam Das Manikpuri, Kondagaon: Children are the future of the country, the hope of dreams of happy days to come rests on them. In Bastar division, a fierce battle is being fought against malnutrition. The administration has taken the initiative to completely eradicate malnutrition here and some dedicated Karma Yogis are giving their valuable services in this work. One of them is Rajbati, who travels 24 kms through the middle of the forest by joining her head to deliver nutritious food and eggs to the children.
Cash Yellow Scheme is being operated in the district to nourish the malnourished children. Nutritious food is being provided to the malnourished children by the workers of the Anganwadi centers operated in the district, while there is a plan to feed eggs to moderate and very malnourished children 3 days a week, working in Naxal citadel, Anganwadi worker to remove malnutrition. The passion of such an egg is reaching the village by walking 24 kilometers in her head.
After the establishment of Anganwadi center in Chikpal Para of Kadenar, Dhur Naxal affected village adjoining Abujhmad, after setting up of Anganwadi center since the year 2009, bypassing Naxal panic, Eggs are being distributed along with nutritious food to the children, Rajabti said – at present a total of 30 children are studying in the Chikpal Anganwadi Center of Kadenar. Out of which normal 23, the number of moderately malnourished children is 7. Feeding eggs to 7 children 3 days a week.
In the absence of a road, to reach Kadenar, one has to pass through the river drain between the forests and the mountains. Carrying an egg in a cycle through these routes, there is a fear of bursting. Therefore, I carry the eggs in my head to Kadenar, about 24 km from Mardapal, so that by feeding nutritious food and eggs to the malnourished children in the Naxal citadel, I can beat malnutrition.
Anganwadi workers are doing good work, arrangements will be made soon to reach the unreached areas.
