
Ola Electric has started booking its first electric scooter in the domestic market. The company’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal himself has announced this on the social networking site Twitter. The country’s leading cab provider company Ola has been waiting for this first electric scooter for a long time and the company is continuously increasing the craze among the people regarding its launch. You can book this scooter for just Rs 499 and it is a refundable amount.
This is the first time in the country that the booking amount for an electric scooter has been kept so low. Recently, this scooter was also spotted during testing in different parts of the country. Apart from this, Bhavish Aggarwal did a test drive of this electric scooter a few days ago and shared some information related to its launch.
You can book this first electric scooter of Ola through the company’s official website (Olaelectric.com). For this, you have to deposit the booking amount as just Rs 499. It is believed that the company will deliver it on the basis of first booking, that is, the one who books first will get the first delivery.
The Ola scooter will be manufactured at Ola Futurefactory, the world’s largest electric two-wheeler factory, being built on a 500-acre site in Tamil Nadu. Presently the company is working in this plant. Recently, the company has confirmed that its first phase of having annual capacity of two million units is almost complete. The target is to increase this capacity to 10 million per annum by the end of next year.
Notably, the Ola scooter has won several awards before hitting the market and the list includes the IHS Markit Innovation Award and the German Design Award at CES. It is being told that the Ola electric scooter will be charged from zero to 50% in just 18 minutes, so that it can travel up to 75 km. It is expected to have a range of around 150 km on a full charge. In this, the company will provide features like full-LED lighting, fast charging, front disc brake.
