Washington. The Biden administration has taken a big step after former US President Donald Trump’s decision to ban many Chinese apps including Tik Tok. The Biden administration has reversed Trump’s decision and will now review these apps himself. President Joe Biden on Wednesday signed an executive order rescinding Trump’s ban on several Chinese apps, including TikTok and WeChat.
Now the US Commerce Secretary will investigate these apps owned by Chinese companies whether they can pose a risk to US data privacy or national security. It was decided to ban the video sharing mobile app Tiktok (US Tik-Tok Ban).
Along with this, executive orders were also issued to ban many other Chinese apps. Trump’s order was challenged in courts and cases are still ongoing in many courts. However, Trump’s orders will become ineffective after the Biden administration’s executive order is issued on Wednesday.
