
New Delhi. Cricket: sport: Former Team India player and veteran batsman Rahul Dravid will be the coach of the Indian team for the tour of Sri Lanka. They have given their in-principle consent to the proposal given by the BCCI and now they have also joined with Team India to prepare for the tour. In this tour, Team India will play three ODIs and T20 series against Sri Lanka.
Explain that Team India received offers to tour England and Sri Lanka at the same time, after which the main team led by Virat Kohli will visit England. This team will be accompanied by Ravi Shastri, the head coach of the team, while the secondary team i.e. Team India A will be on the tour of Sri Lanka. Rahul Dravid will play his coach. The tour will begin on 13 July. The first match of the ODI series will be played on this day. The second ODI will be played on July 16 and the third on July 19.
The T-20 series will begin on 22 July. The second match of the series will be played on 24 and the third on 27 July. Rahul Dravid, 48, has served the senior team earlier also. He was appointed batting consultant of the Indian team on a tour of England in 2014. Rahul Dravid has also been a mentor and coach of India’s Under-19 team. Under his guidance, players like Prithvi Shaw, Shardul Thakur, Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Mohammed Siraj have enhanced their sportsmanship and made their way into the senior team.
Talking about Rahul Dravid’s career, he made his international debut in the series against England in 1996. He retired from international cricket in the year 2012 and in the meantime he scored a total of 24177 runs in international cricket. His superb durable batting and unique technique have earned him the nickname Mr. Trustworthy and Great Wall.
