Raipur : Chhattisgarh : With collective efforts of everyone, COVID situation in the state is gradually coming under control. But to properly control this situation, we need to take proper precautions strictly and compulsorily. Each and every rule, safety protocol and precaution should be followed to save people from COVID-19 infection”, said Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the virtual meeting of Revenue, Police, SDO Health and Block-level officials of seven districts under Rajnandgaon, Kabeerdham and Bastar Divisions.
In this virtual meeting held today, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reviewed the current situation of COVID- infection, preventive measures being taken, COVID treatment facilities, medicine kits distribution and the progress of testing in Rajnandgaon, Kabeerdham, Bastar, Bijapur, Dantewada, Narayanpur, Sukma, Kondagaon and Kanker district. Chief Minister said that people coming from the border areas should be compulsorily tested for COVID-19. He directed the officials concerned to ensure proper arrangements for COVID tests at all checkposts and checkpoints of the state. Chief Minister further said that the discussions with field officials have revealed that the spread of COVID infection in rural areas has increased because of people coming from outside, marriage functions, festivals etc. He said that it is necessary to follow the COVID Guideline to avoid further spread of infection. He called upon the authorities to make people aware and constantly explain them to prevent COVID-19 infection. Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu, Health Minister T.S. Singhdev, Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agrawal also participated in the meeting through video conferencing. Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Subrata Sahu, Secretary Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi were present at the Chief Minister’s residence.
Chief Minister said that the government has made efforts to improve health facilities in all the districts of Bastar Division. It has benefited people during this second wave of COVID-19 and the situation has considerably improved. In the review meeting, the officials of rural areas informed that adequate number of common beds, oxygen beds, ICU beds as well as ventilators have been made available to the people in the hospitals. There is no shortage of medicines. Medicine kits are being distributed to patients with corona symptoms through mitanins. Chief Minister said that we also need to pay attention towards the patients in home isolation and ensure that they follow COVID guideline. Chief Minister has directed the officials to constantly monitor the border areas and conduct a COVID test of the people coming from outside.
Health Minister T.S. Singhdev said that those above 45 years of age who have recieved the first dose of COVID vaccine, should be motivated to get the second dose in the stipulated time. Home Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said that the arrangements made by the state government have begun to yield positive results. He emphasized on stopping the propaganda being done through social media and directed to make the right information available to the masses. Revenue Minister Jai Singh Aggarwal also addressed the meeting. Officials informed that people are being made aware of COVID guidelines and their importance through loudspeakers.
