Chhattisgarh: According to the guidelines of the Central Government, the state government has made it clear that amidst reports of doubt on the campaign to apply COVID vaccine to people aged between 18 and 45 from May 1 in the state, the date fixed in the state is from May 1. The vaccination campaign will begin. In view of the low supply of vaccines, eligible persons from Antyodaya ration cardholder families will be vaccinated first in this age group in the state.
BPL ration card holders and then APL ration card holders will get vaccinated if supply increases. Vaccination of people above 45 years of age will continue as per Central Government guidelines. A high level meeting was held in a video conference with members of the cabinet headed by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, with the Chief Secretary, Chief Minister's Secretariat and senior officials of the Health Department embodying this action plan. On the order of the state government, Bharat Biotech is supplying one lakh three thousand 40 vaccines of covaxine to Chhattisgarh on 1 May. These vaccines will reach Raipur on the morning of 1 May, from where the vaccines will be distributed to all the districts immediately. All the development blocks and municipal corporations of Raipur, Bilaspur and Durg divisions will start vaccinating 18 years to 45 years of eligible persons from May 1. It will start in the development blocks and municipal areas of Bastar and Surguja divisions from May 2. The Chief Minister has instructed all the concerned officials to prepare it firmly. He has also asked all the ministers to inform the MLAs of the districts under their charge, so that they can also help in making necessary arrangements and making people aware.
